This Team Apprentice charity event is excellent event for teamwork and
has a real feel good outcome. The charity we suggest for this event is
Centrepoint who provide accommodation and a safe environment for young
homeless people in London. Centrepoint provide us with a list of items
that would of benefit to them that the teams will need to source. A £100
stake is suggested for each team although in many instances they are able
to obtain the items without using the stake. This is a fun, fast-paced,
highly competitive team event with much laughter.
Our Event manager will brief the teams and explain to the teams what to
expect from the afternoon and cover all health and safety issues, before
dividing the participants into teams (unless you would prefer to pre-select
your teams, please let us know). The teams will spend the first part of
this event brainstorming and bonding. The event consists of two parts:
the energiser and creative priming activities, followed by the charity
challenge.
Charity Challenge
The Buyer: How good are the haggling, negotiation, and even persuasion
skills in the team? How assertive and convincing can they be? In their
pack they will find a list of items to be purchased. These items have
been chosen by the charity as of benefit to them. They will need to source
these items and strike the best deal they can or even obtain them for
free. It is important that the teams are able to show what saving they
have made and provide relevant documentation of these purchases.
Let the challenge begin! They will need to delegate roles amongst themselves
before going out into the streets to undertake this challenge. The Teams Return - The teams return with the results of their challenge.
The event manager will give his final analysis of the event, the performance
of the teams and announce the amount of goods obtained for charity. A
representative from Centrepoint will attend the end of the event to thank
the teams and explain about their work and how the items will benefit
the charity. Finally we award a prize to the individual team that has
obtained the most goods from the list provided.
“THANKYOU so much
for your wonderful event!
We are delighted with the prizes – much appreciated.”
Teenage Cancer Trust benefitted from a team building event that Wild
Events put on for Homebase. The team of 50 Homebase colleagues took part
in an apprentice style event approaching companies and shops on the high
street to source prizes for Teenage Cancer Trust. The team that took
part sourced some very valuable prizes whilst also raising awareness
of the charity which helps young people across the UK fight cancer. Teenage
Cancer Trust is very grateful for the support and we were delighted at
the success of the event.
